A deliberately unhurried private safari through Tarangire, the Rift Valley, Ngorongoro and two complementary Serengeti regions. Fourteen days create enough room for full field days, sensible transfers and a final buffer in Arusha without adding Zanzibar or a disconnected southern-circuit detour.

Journey at a glance

  • Fourteen days and thirteen nights, beginning and ending around Arusha
  • Two full Tarangire nights and a Rift Valley transition
  • Two Ngorongoro highlands nights with an early crater descent
  • Five Serengeti nights divided only when two regions improve the safari
  • Scheduled flight out of the Serengeti and a final connection buffer

Day 1 — Arrive at Kilimanjaro and transfer to Arusha

Meet the WAE team and transfer to Arusha. Rest after the international journey and confirm the route, luggage plan and current field conditions with your safari team.

Day 2 — Arusha at a human pace

Keep this as a recovery and preparation day. A short Arusha visit, coffee experience or gentle walk can be arranged, but nothing important is lost if you need sleep, a pool and time to reset.

Day 3 — Arusha to Tarangire

Drive to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive among baobabs, riverine woodland and seasonal wetlands. Stay inside the park or close to a suitable gate according to budget and the next day’s plan.

Day 4 — Tarangire in depth

Use a complete field day around the river system and quieter areas when conditions allow. Dry months often concentrate elephants and other wildlife near water; green months change the light, birdlife and animal distribution.

Day 5 — Tarangire to the Rift Valley

Move towards Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu or the Karatu highlands. Depending on conditions and interests, include a Lake Manyara game drive or a locally guided cultural and food experience. The choice is confirmed before travel rather than forced into every departure.

Day 6 — Ngorongoro highlands

Continue into the highlands for a slower day near Karatu or the crater rim. Walks and community visits are included only when responsibly arranged and suitable for the group. Prepare for an early crater descent.

Day 7 — Ngorongoro Crater

Descend early with a picnic lunch. Work through grassland, marsh and forest habitats with enough time to observe behaviour instead of chasing a checklist. Return to the highlands for a second night.

Day 8 — Ngorongoro to central Serengeti

Travel west through the conservation area and enter the Serengeti. This is a substantial transfer and part of the safari. Reach central Serengeti for the first of two nights beside the river and kopje systems that support resident wildlife year-round.

Wildebeest in the Serengeti ecosystem
Five Serengeti nights allow the route to combine reliable resident wildlife with the most appropriate seasonal region.

Day 9 — Central Serengeti

Take a full day around Seronera with a private vehicle. Your guide can respond to tracks, weather and photography interests rather than a shared schedule. An optional balloon safari must be booked separately and remains weather-dependent.

Day 10 — Move to the seasonal Serengeti region

Shift north, west, south or east only when the travel month and current conditions justify it. When movement would waste field time, all five Serengeti nights can remain in one carefully chosen region.

Days 11–12 — Two full days in the seasonal region

Use two unhurried days for wildlife, landscape and light. Migration possibilities are balanced with resident cats, elephants, birds and quieter observations. No crossing, kill, calving event or individual species is promised.

Day 13 — Fly to Arusha

Transfer to the correct Serengeti airstrip and fly by scheduled light aircraft to Arusha. Safari flights may make additional stops and usually require soft-sided luggage with strict weight limits. Transfer to an Arusha hotel for a final night.

Day 14 — Departure

Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport with a connection margin appropriate to your flight. A day room or late checkout can be quoted for evening departures.
