Partner with us in East Africa

Your client should never feel handed over.

They should feel met, understood and looked after from the moment they arrive.

Wilderness Alternative is an adventure company before it is a travel company. We know the mountains, roads, wild places and coast because our people guide there. We do not simply pass a booking from one supplier to the next.

When an agency partners with us, you remain the travel company your client chose. We become the people on the ground who make your promise feel real.

  • Three permanent guidesThey are the heart of our field team and carry our standards from one journey to the next.
  • Trusted professionals around themWhen a journey needs another safari guide, mountain specialist, driver, cook or coastal expert, we work with people whose judgement and work we know.
  • Quality before volumeWe would rather operate fewer journeys well than accept work we cannot give the attention it deserves.
Licensed and accountableA licensed Kenyan tour operator and KATO member, with Kennedy personally involved in every agency partnership.
3 KPSGA Silver guidesThree safari guides hold Silver-level Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association qualifications.
Wilderness First AidTraining across the safari-guide team for work in places where help may not be close at hand.
One person to callYour agency can speak directly with Kennedy before, during and after the journey.

What we can operate

Mountains, wild places and the coast – connected properly.

You should not have to explain the same client again at every handover. We keep the brief, the pace and the reasons behind the journey in view from arrival to departure.

One journey, one understanding

A journey should feel like one story, not six suppliers.

This route is only an example. The real journey begins with the person travelling: what draws them to East Africa, how they like to move and what would make the trip feel truly theirs.

Kenya and Tanzania

Rooted in Kenya, with a real team in Moshi.

Our Kenya team connects Nairobi, safari, Mount Kenya, Northern Kenya and the coast. In Tanzania, our Moshi team receives Kilimanjaro guests and brings the right people, equipment and route plan together for each climb.

Kenya base

Nairobi, mountain, safari and coast

Private transfers, 4×4 safari planning, accommodation matching, mountain operations and Indian Ocean extensions coordinated through a local team that knows how the pieces affect one another.

How partnership can work

We fit around the relationship you already have.

Some partners want their clients to meet us as Wilderness Alternative. Others prefer a shared identity or for us to work quietly behind their brand. We agree what feels right before the client arrives.

01

As Wilderness Alternative

Your client meets us openly as the local adventure company operating their journey.

02

Co-branded

Agency and Wilderness Alternative are represented together in the agreed documents and arrival experience.

03

Behind your brand

Where agreed, we work quietly on the ground while your agency remains the name and relationship the client sees.

Airport arrival

Named welcome board, agency logo where agreed, meet-and-greet, private transfer, local contact and a clear handover.

Vehicle presentation

Temporary, removable agency branding or welcome identification can be fitted to a private safari vehicle by prior arrangement.

Travel documents

Detailed itineraries, transfers, stay information, packing notes, operating contacts and guide details can be WAE-branded, co-branded or agency-facing.

The trust between us

We will not use your trust to compete with you.

The client is yours. Our job is to make your agency look good on the ground, not to use the journey to seek a future direct booking.

Your client information, commercial information and private rates stay between us. We can speak only with your agency, or include the traveller when that helps – you decide.

Before travel, we agree who communicates what, how the brand appears and who is responsible for each part of the journey.

Private trade rates

Private rates, built around a real brief.

Tell us who is travelling, what matters to them and the level you need. We will build a private quotation for an FIT, family, group, safari, expedition or longer combination.

Trade rates and supplier terms stay private between Wilderness Alternative and the agency.

Quality before price tags

The right journey is not always the most expensive one.

Quality begins with the right guide, honest pacing and thoughtful choices. We work across strong mid-range, upper-mid-range and high-end travel, matching each client with the right route, property and rhythm.

  • Private vehicles and transfers
  • Excellent camps and lodges
  • Charter or bush-flight connections where available
  • Complex multi-property and mountain-safari-coast itineraries
  • Special arrangements agreed before travel

The people with your client

The guide is not a line in the itinerary.

For a week, one guide may shape how your client remembers East Africa. Our three permanent guides are the core of the company. When a journey needs other expertise, we work with professionals we know and trust – never simply whoever happens to be available.

How we develop guides

Quality is a habit, not a badge.

Qualifications matter, but quality shows up in smaller moments: noticing when someone is tired, changing the pace before they ask, respecting wildlife, checking equipment properly and talking honestly after a trip about what can be better next time.

Understanding the Maasai Mara

Where you stay in the Mara changes the whole safari.

The Reserve, Triangle and conservancies are not interchangeable. Each offers a different balance of access, activities, property style, vehicle traffic and atmosphere.

We begin with the kind of safari your client wants to feel, then choose the area, camp, guide, vehicle and pace that can create it.

National Reserve
Classic access to the eastern reserve and major wildlife areas, balanced against seasonal traffic and the position of the chosen camp.
Mara Triangle
Western reserve landscapes, escarpment views and different access to the Mara River and neighbouring sectors.
Community conservancies
Mara North, Naboisho and Olare Motorogi each require careful comparison of access, activities, property character and conservancy rules.
Private pacing
A professional driver-guide, an uncrowded vehicle and enough time to read animal behaviour instead of racing between sightings.

Mount Kenya experience

On Mount Kenya, experience changes the decisions.

A mountain is never just a list of camps. Route choice, acclimatisation, food, weather, porter welfare and summit decisions all depend on the people climbing and what the mountain is doing that day.

When something changes

When the plan changes, someone who knows the trip answers.

Roads close, flights move, weather turns and people become ill. The value of a local partner is not pretending these things never happen; it is noticing early, deciding calmly and keeping your agency informed.

On safari

Wilderness First Aid training across the safari-guide team, emergency communication, professional driver-guides, vehicle contingency and local medical escalation where appropriate.

On the mountain

Guide assessment, route or pace changes, descent, first response, evacuation coordination and insurance-dependent helicopter arrangements where genuinely applicable.

For the porter team

Adequate mountain staffing, responsible loads, crew food, equipment, cooks, weather protection and a welfare lead who listens to the team.

Remote travel carries risk, and we do not pretend otherwise. Before confirmation, we explain the procedures, limits and insurance requirements that apply to the actual itinerary.

How we begin

Start with the client, not a perfect form.

Send what you know, even if the route is not finished. The most useful beginning is understanding the person travelling, what they care about and what your agency has promised them.

  1. 01Understand the client

Client profile, dates, interests, budget and brand requirements.

  2. 02Shape the journey

Route, stays, transport, guides and realistic options.

  3. 03Agree the details

Commercial model, responsibilities and communication line.

  4. 04Look after the client

The local team receives the guest and holds the moving parts together.

  5. 05Learn from the trip

Feedback closes the booking and improves the next operation.

A conversation with the person responsible

Tell Kennedy about the person behind the booking.

Send the outline, but also tell us who they are: what excites them, what they worry about and how they like to travel. That is where thoughtful planning begins.

Partner with us

Tell us about the journey.

You do not need a finished itinerary. Share what you know about the client, the dates, the budget and what matters most to them. Kennedy will take it from there.

We use these details only to understand and reply to your enquiry. Private rates and commercial documents are shared directly with your agency.
