Why stay here
Naboisho Camp gives guests a well-rounded conservancy safari without turning the stay into a sequence of add-on activities. It is small, comfortable and positioned within Mara Naboisho Conservancy, a large protected area on the northern side of the Greater Mara ecosystem.
The camp is especially useful when different travellers in one party have different needs. Serious wildlife time can sit alongside a pool, family accommodation and a slower afternoon, while the guiding programme remains flexible enough for night drives, walks or fly camping where available.
Setting and safari character
Naboisho contains open plains, wooded drainage lines and rolling country used by resident predators and herbivores throughout the year. The conservancy model limits tourism pressure and supports lease payments to local landowners, helping keep the landscape open for wildlife.
Because guests are already in productive habitat, the best day may remain entirely inside Naboisho. A Reserve excursion is an option, not an obligation. Night drives reveal a different layer of the ecosystem, while guided walks slow the experience down to tracks, insects, plants and wind direction.
Rooms and camp life
The camp has nine tents, including two family suites. Indoor and outdoor showers, a pool, spa treatments and well-organised common areas create a comfortable base without losing the canvas-camp atmosphere. The smaller scale keeps hosting personal and allows staff to understand the rhythm of each group.
A dedicated photographic vehicle and more adventurous options such as fly camping may be available by arrangement. These need advance planning; they are not promises to be improvised after arrival.
Best for
Naboisho Camp is a strong choice for couples, photographers, families with children aged five and above under the current policy, and travellers wanting varied activities. It is also suitable for a first conservancy safari because the operation is polished and the landscape consistently rewarding.
Access from Nairobi
Mara Ol Seki Airstrip is the usual access point. Current camp information places the road transfer at about forty-five minutes, although wildlife, weather and road conditions influence the actual journey. Scheduled flights normally use Nairobi’s Wilson Airport and soft baggage is required.
A private road journey from Nairobi works in a longer circuit, but for a short stay the flight usually delivers better use of time. We also allow sensible connection time when arriving internationally at Jomo Kenyatta before crossing Nairobi to Wilson.
How it combines
Naboisho combines naturally with a Reserve camp around Musiara or the Mara River, or with Angama for the western escarpment. It also follows Laikipia well. Within the Mara, three or four nights here often produce more depth than dividing the same time between similar conservancy properties.
Wilderness Alternative note
We value Naboisho Camp for balance. It can deliver serious guiding and a comfortable family stay without pretending those are opposing ideas. We recommend a private vehicle for photographers or families wanting maximum control over pace, and we keep Reserve excursions focused on a clear reason.
