Faru Faru suits travellers who want the service and conservation depth of Singita without Sasakwa’s grand-house mood. The design is lighter and more contemporary, and indoor and outdoor spaces flow into one another. Wildlife at the waterhole can keep the landscape present during meals, a swim or a quiet afternoon.
It works well for couples and families who value a lodge with facilities but still want the day to feel grounded in river country. It is also the most natural choice of the three main Singita Grumeti lodges for guests who prefer a relaxed bush-lodge scale.
The safari and setting
The lodge lies in the private Grumeti reserve, not inside Serengeti National Park. Game drives therefore follow the reserve’s landscape, guide knowledge and operating rules. The western ecosystem supports resident wildlife year-round, while migration movement is seasonal and rain-led.
The waterhole is a strength, not a guarantee. Animals decide when to arrive, and different months change both visibility and movement. A patient afternoon at the lodge can be as valuable as adding another drive.
The trade-offs
