Central Serengeti near Moru Kopjes, Tanzania

Dunia Camp

Dunia gives central Serengeti a quieter, more personal base. Positioned with access towards Moru Kopjes and the southern side of the central ecosystem, the camp sits away from the heaviest Seronera concentration while remaining well placed for resident cats and varied habitats.

Why we would choose it

Dunia is operated by an all-women team, a fact that gives the camp a genuine social identity but should not be reduced to a marketing label. Guests return for warm hosting, capable guiding and an intimate tented scale. With eight tents including a family suite, the camp is small enough for service to remain personal.

Its location suits travellers who want Moru Kopjes, central predator country and the possibility of reaching different habitats without sleeping in the busiest part of Seronera. It can be especially effective when a wider route also includes Ndutu or the eastern plains.

What the stay feels like

This is a classic tented safari atmosphere with proper beds, private bathrooms and shared meals or fireside time, not a large lodge with resort facilities. Canvas keeps guests connected to night sound and early light. Escorts and camp guidance are part of living safely in wildlife country.

The trade-offs

  • Personal, small-camp hosting, but fewer facilities than Four Seasons or a large permanent lodge.
  • Good access towards Moru and central habitats, though exact sightings always depend on conditions.
  • A family suite helps, but current age and vehicle arrangements still need confirmation.
  • Guests wanting a spa, large pool or multiple dining venues should choose differently.

How long to stay

Three nights is a useful minimum in central Serengeti; four allows a full day towards Moru or a slower photography morning. Dunia combines naturally with Ndutu, another Serengeti region or the onward road to Ngorongoro.
